Magic Mirror

A participatory performance dedicated to mastery and joyful manifestation

Co-hosted with artist DANGERTAPE, Magic Mirror was an event series and creative study of manifestation. Participants were invited to join and/or contribute to 7 public events, including performances, workshops, parties and exhibitions, held at 3 venues over 3 months.

The sequel to my first participatory performance, the Festival of Fools, Magic Mirror reprised many of its collaborations and followed a similar format, substituting the Fool for the Magician archetype as its guiding spirit.

When

Mar – Jun 2025 (3 months, full-time)

Where

Tiohtià:ke/Montréal, Canada

Themes

re-enchantment

Manifestation is the act of bringing an intention or desire into reality. It comes from the belief that the world listens when we speak with trust and focus, and implies co-creating reality by aligning with unseen forces.

healing

I used Magic Mirror to reconnect with neglected parts of myself, combining studies in psychology and spirituality with mind-body practices like yoga and tai chi. Making art in community allowed me to relax, feel more connected and recover lost energy.

relationality

To realize Magic Mirror, we worked with existing relationships and networks. These ties gave the project life and momentum with little planning or budget. Theatre event Sources of Power and solstice party Mirror Work explored how we relate to ourselves and a higher power.
